Avocado chocolate smoothie – rich and creamy drink which is very simple, easy to make and yet healthy. I love smoothies and I find it as the easy way to incorporate good proteins and fats into my daily routine.
Avocado is rich in mono-saturated fatty acids which is good for heart health. They are rich in vitamin B, C, E & K as well. It grows only in few parts of India and usually called as “Butter fruit” or “Makkan-phal”. I was fortunate to get some good avocados from the local organic market.
In this smoothie, I have used cacao powder which is different from cocoa which we generally get in all supermarkets. I have given a brief difference between these two here. You can check my other smoothie recipes – peanut butter banana smoothie and tahini banana smoothie. You can use good quality drinking chocolate powder as well to make this avocado chocolate smoothie.
I have used coconut milk to make this recipe, you can use any milk or yogurt for making this. Coconut milk is highly nutritious and easy to make at home in under 10 minutes. You can find the recipe for making coconut milk from scratch here.
I have added almond butter to this smoothie to increase its nutrient quotient. You can add any protein powder or any nut butter or skip it as well.
What you will need for making an Avocado chocolate smoothie…
2 small bananas (optional)
1 cup coconut milk
A tbsp of almond butter (optional)
One tsp of cacao powder
3-4 dates soaked in water
How to make an Avocado chocolate smoothie…
Add all ingredients to the blender and blend smoothly. You can add any other sweetener of your choice as well.
