Spinach Saag Vegan & Gluten free

Ingredients

Spinach Aromatics Indian spices Oil 

Prep work

Wash the spinach leaves and drain the water. Finely chop the spinach, onion, ginger & garlic.

Step 1

Heat a pan and add oil, chopped onions, ginger, garlic, and green chili.

Step 2

Cook the onion mix until it's clear, about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Add turmeric, cumin, coriander powder, and salt.

Step 4

Mix well. If it gets too hot, add a spoon of water to avoid burning.

Step 5

Then, I added the chopped spinach and cooked it on high heat for 5-6 minutes.

Step 6

The spinach will wilt and cook completely with no water left.

Step 7

For a smoother restaurant-style saag, blend the cooked spinach using a blender once it cools.

Your creamy Indian saag is ready to serve, or you can use it as a base for other curries.
