Indian Chickpea Curry Chana Masala

Prep work

Cook the chickpeas and keep them aside. 

Finely chop the onions, tomatoes.

You can use canned chickpeas also.

Heat a thick-bottomed pan and add oil, bay leaf, cumin seeds, and fresh ginger paste.

Add chopped onion and sauté them for 3 to 4 minutes.

Step 3

Add tomato purée and cook it on a medium flame for 4 to 5 minutes.

Step 4

Add spice powders to this cooked tomato mixture and mix it well.

Step 5

Add cooked chickpeas and stir it.

Step 6

It's time to add the water to this chickpeas tomato curry.

Step 7

Mix it well and simmer the chickpea curry over medium heat.
