Instant pot Masoor Dal  (Red lentils dal)

Ingredients

Red lentils Tomato Aromatics Indian spices Oil 

Prep work

Rinse the lentils and keep them aside. Chop the veggies, tomato, and onions.

Step 1

Start the instant pot in saute mode. Add oil, cumin, mustard, curry leaves, and garlic.

Step 2

Add finely chopped onions and let it cook for a couple of minutes.

Step 3

Now add the chopped tomatoes and mix them well.

Step 4

 Add veggies and spice powders. Mix everything well and make sure that it isn't burnt.

Step 5

Add rinsed red lentils.

Step 6

Add water to the Instant pot inner pot. Start the Instant pot in manual mode and cook for 4 minutes on high pressure.

Step 7

Once the Instant pot finishes cooking, wait for 10 minutes and carefully release the pressure.

Step 8

 Stir the red lentils and garnish the dal with finely chopped cilantro and a dash of lime juice

Step 9

The delicious Instant pot red lentil dal is ready to serve with piping hot basmati rice .
