Saag Indian spiced Spinach

What is Saag

Saag is a simple curry with leafy vegetables and basic Indian spices. Saag is typically prepared with a combination of leafy greens like mustard, radish, spinach, and fenugreek. But you could use any leafy greens to make the saag.


Spinach Onion Indian spices Oil 

Prep work

Wash the spinach leaves and drain the water. Finely chop the spinach, onion, ginger & garlic.

Step 1

Heat a pan, add oil, onions, ginger, garlic and slit green chili.

Step 2

Cook the onion mixture till it turns translucent

Step 3

Add spice powders & salt.

Step 4

 Mix everything well and make sure that it isn't burnt.

Step 5

Add finely chopped spinach and cook it on high flame.

Step 6

Once the spinach mixture is cooked well, keep it aside to cool down. Blend it into a rough paste, and the Saag sauce is ready to use.
