Spinach Lentils  Dal Saag Vegan & Gluten-free

Main Ingredients

Prep work

Rinse the lentils a couple of times.

Clean the spinach, wash the leaves, and finely chop them.

Cook the lentils and keep it aside. Please check the recipe for detailed steps to cook lentils.

Step 1

Heat a pan and add oil, cumin, mustard seeds.

Step 2

Add garlic, red and green chilies to this mix. Wait for about a minute, or until they lightly brown.

Step 3

Now, add the chopped spinach to the pan.

Step 4

Let the spinach cook for around 3 to 4 minutes.

Step 5

Add the cooked and mashed lentils to the wilted spinach.

Step 6

Sprinkle in coriander powder, turmeric powder, and salt.

Step 7

Mix it well and let the spinach dal simmer for 4 to 5 minutes over low to medium heat.

Step 8

Remove it from the heat and drizzle with lemon juice.

Your creamy and tasty Dal Saag, or Spinach Dal, is ready to be served!
