Are you looking for quick breakfast ideas? Make this easy and healthy four-ingredient peanut butter strawberry-banana smoothie for your breakfast. This delicious smoothie is vegan and does not use yogurt or milk.

Smoothies are my go-to breakfast option on busy days. With just a few ingredients, we can make a healthy breakfast at home easily. I sometimes prefer having a smoothie for even dinner if I am really out of time and energy.
Ingredients:
Strawberries: We love bright red, juicy, sweet (with a subtle hint of tartness) strawberries. And I love to make this strawberry banana smoothie with fresh strawberries.
But to enjoy it all the year, I also freeze and use them to make this smoothie. So if you do not have fresh strawberries, you can use frozen ones also.
Banana: Banana helps in making this strawberry smoothie thick and creamy. And as bananas will be sweet, we don't need any additional sweetener in this recipe.
Peanut butter: Who doesn't love creamy peanut butter. Adding peanut butter makes this smoothie protein-rich and filling enough for having it as a breakfast.
Coconut milk: I made this strawberry banana smoothie recipe without yogurt. According to Ayurveda, one should not consume sour fruits and easily digested fruits with milk and its products.
We can easily make a smoothie without yogurt, and the smoothie will taste delicious. To make it rich and creamy, I used homemade coconut milk. But any plant-based milk will work in this recipe.
How to make the strawberry banana smoothie:
- I like to use fresh strawberries to make this smoothie. Wash the strawberries thoroughly. Remove the stems and chop them into halves and add them to the blender jar.
- You don't need an expensive blender like Vitamix. Any blender works. I also use Nutri bullet when I am making a single portion smoothie.
- Add chopped banana, peanut butter, and half of the coconut milk and blend it into a smooth paste.
- Now add the remaining milk and blend it well. And the delicious strawberry banana smoothie with coconut milk and peanut butter is ready to serve.
- Enjoy this no-yogurt smoothie immediately, or store it in an airtight jar for later use.
Recipe Notes:
- Don't have coconut milk? Then make this strawberry banana smoothie with almond milk. You can even use any plant-based milk like oat milk, soy milk, cashew milk. However, if using cashew milk, do not store this for later use, as strawberries will curdle the cashew milk because of its tartness.
- Want to make this strawberry smoothie without a banana? You can skip it. Instead, you can use any other fruit like mango, apple, cantaloupe. Or you can ignore it entirely and make the smoothie only with strawberries and milk. In this case, you might need to add sweetener.
- Don't love peanut butter? Use almond butter or any nut butter or seed butter to make this smoothie creamy. Adding any plant-based nut butter will increase the protein content of the smoothie and makes it filling.
- Want to make this smoothie more nutritious and filling? Add a teaspoon of chia seeds or flax seeds. These provide good amounts of protein and are a rich source of plant-based omega-3 fatty acids. The final smoothie taste will vary accordingly.
- Love sweet smoothies? You can use any healthy sweeteners like maple syrup, honey, molasses, dates syrup. These sweeteners will impart their flavor to the smoothie. This recipe is diabetic-friendly that doesn't have any sweeteners. We are not adding any additional sweetener as banana and coconut milk adds a mild sweetness to the smoothie.
- Who doesn't love a creamy strawberry banana smoothie? We can make creamy smoothies at home easily using frozen fruits. You don't need any expensive blender. So freeze the bananas or strawberries for a few hours in the refrigerator's freezer section and use them to make a smoothie.
- This smoothie stores well for 1 or 2 days in the refrigerator. I usually store it in airtight glass jars filled to the brim to reduce oxidation and nutrient loss.
Variations:
- Mango strawberry banana smoothie: Adding mango to this smoothie will make it more delicious and creamy. You can use frozen mango or mango pulp to make this smoothie. And mango can easily replace the banana in this strawberry smoothie recipe.
- Blueberry strawberry banana smoothie: Replace a half cup of strawberries with blueberries and make this smoothie. You can use any berries like blackberries, raspberries to make this smoothie.
- Strawberry banana apple smoothie: You can replace a banana with an apple in this smoothie or use both to make the smoothie. Apple will make this smoothie sweeter and, of course, tastier.
- Oats strawberry banana smoothie: If you want to make this smoothie more filling, then add around ¼ cup of rolled oats while making this smoothie. If you add oatmeal, this smoothie will be the perfect lactation smoothie.
